About the role
You will use your expertise in Research (qual and quant) to turn numerous and diverse data sources into insight that will inform our propositions. You'll get the business to listen through creative customer led story-telling
You will be responsible for
- Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence
- Unifying all sources of customer feedback into a single actionable narrative that leaders can hear, want to listen to and act to respond in their plans
- Extending our approach to make it more innovative, combining cutting edge market research knowledge and leveraging the wide data sources available to us today and in the future
- Generating a robust set of recommendations that are trusted to represent the needs of our customers
- Bringing this collective customer voice to the leadership table to influence propositions to drive our innovation
- Leading projects from beginning to end – engaging with senior business stakeholders to understand requirements, scoping out requirements, performing analysis and packaging up in a presentable story
- Finding creative techniques to understand customer needs, motivations and wants in partnership with other Tesco teams and our agencies
- Using expertise to produce accurate and actionable insight which develops and actions our customer growth strategy within a fast-paced environment
You will need
Key people and teams you will work with in and outside of Tesco:
- Insight team and wider Customer team
- Functional stakeholders relevant to role scope
- Creative, Media and research agencies, suppliers
- Tesco Labs and UX team
People, budgets and other resources you will be accountable for in the job:
- Dotted line accountability for dunnhumby solutions lead priorities, agencies and a joint Insight plan where research is a component.
- Research budget allocated from overall Insight budget.
- Health (NPS) of agency relationships with Tesco
Operational skills relevant for this job:
- Strong problem solving and commercial skills to develop compelling briefs that deliver meaningful insight
- Team leadership and ability to manage multiple projects across multiple agencies
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Creative story telling and presentation
Experience relevant for this job:
- 5 years of Research experience
- Good knowledge of customer experience methodologies and commercialization desirable
- Solid understanding of social listening, social media and search analytics an advantage
- Evidence of fusing diverse data-sets together to tell compelling customer stories
