About the role

As an Associate Product Manager here at Tesco, you will be responsible for providing our stores and the wider business with credible data and insight analysis to support key decisions on changes to our operating model.

Reporting to the Lead Systems Manager, you’ll have the freedom to explore new methods, develop solutions and apply your own knowledge of statistical models whilst continuously looking for better ways of doing things using Automation techniques in SAS/SQL.

You will be responsible for

  • Maintaining and providing our UK stores with existing accurate managing hours tools, like Ideal base schedule. 
  • Supporting the day to day BAU-type reporting of the Managing Hours tools which includes updating store profiles and various other data on the database and mainframe.
  • Developing and building analytical models to understand deviation in driver data/output for our Productivity models.
  • Using a combination of data and business understanding to turn data into insight, identifying the root cause of issues and opportunities to improve the way we do things.
  • Reporting data accurately and turning it into useful information which has context and supporting narrative about the various departments in Store such as Bakery,  Checkouts, PFS etc.
  • Provide reports to the UK business with forecast financial results of making Operational changes. 

You will need

To be a curious, ambitious and self driven individual, competent in the use of SAS programming, Mainframes and SQL programming. 

With an advanced working knowledge of MS Office, you will have the ability to translate complex issues into simple and engaging commentary. 

You will be detail orientated and well organised, with a methodical approach to problem solving.
